I just found your website yesterday after debating for years whether or not to actually contact you. I spoke with Sara Lyn Baril shortly after her first CD came out and now, I've decided that it's time to look into doing something with the gift I've been given, besides just write it down and put it in a binder. I've entered songs in the chuch music contests several times and two years ago, my Dad and I entered a song that actually made it to the finals. You've given some great advice. I love to sing, write music and arrange music, but my songwriting isn't limited to church themes. I have written piano music for my piano students and my children. My question is, how do you approach someone about performing your music without appearing to be wanting to show off? I think that's been my biggest drawback.

Thank you for this message. I am a singer/songwriter and really appreciated your wisdom and advice.

By the way, my husband's ancestor is Ebenezer Beesley as well. What a small world!
